Motorists faced long delays during rush hour in Ashford this morning.

Flooding caused hold ups in the appropriately named Flood Street in Mersham and in Boy’s Hall Road, Willesborough, where water was ankle deep.

Traffic lights failed near Chamber’s Garage, at the junction of Somerset Road and North Street.

The junction of Canterbury Road and Simon Weil Avenue and the junction of Canterbury Road and Faversham Road also suffered jams.

Traffic is down to a single lane in Chart Road near Highworth School while water works take place, causing further hold ups.
