Mother in terrifying road rage chase

A WOMAN was subjected to a frightening road rage chase after accidentally cutting in ahead of another car.

The 28-year-old mother from Kennington, who wants to be known only as Emma, was pursued in her blue Corsa from Ashford to Hythe on Thursday after cutting up a black Peugeot on a mini-roundabout at Park Farm.

The 20-minute chase left her shocked and distressed - as well as suffering whiplash after being shunted by the crazed driver.

She said: "I was shaken up - I don't want to get in my car again. I'm just glad I didn't have my kids with me.

"It was about 9.15 in the morning and I was heading to work in Folkestone when I went around the mini roundabout and accidentally cut in front of him. I held my hand up to say sorry, but he flashed his lights, beeped his horn and chased after me. We got to the Orbital Road and he shunted me forward several times.

"The driver was about 25-years-old and wore a baseball cap. His teenage passenger was shaking his fist at me. They were laughing."

Having finally lost her pursuer in traffic at Hythe, Emma drove to the home of a family member before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital where she was treated for whiplash, bruising and shock.

Police are checking CCTV film and a speed camera after Emma and her pursuer went past at 55mph in Hythe. She is also hoping witnesses will come forward.

She added: "When I was being shunted I was deliberately looking at other drivers, asking for help. People saw what was going on."
