M20 in Ashford briefly closed following welfare concern

A motorway was briefly shut today following concerns for a man’s welfare.

The M20 in Ashford, between junctions nine and 10, was closed in both directions for about five minutes this morning.

It followed a welfare concern on the A28 motorway bridge just after 9am.

Police were called and a man was passed into the care of healthcare professionals.

A spokesman for the force added: “We were called to Canterbury Road, Ashford at 9.08am today following concern for a man in the area.

“Officers attended and the man was located and passed into the care of healthcare professionals.”
