At least three vehicles are involved in a crash that left debris strewn across the M20 this evening.

The accident happened about 5.15pm on the Maidstone-bound carriageway between junction 9 for Ashford and junction 8 for Leeds Castle.

Police said all three lanes were blocked, the carriageway covered in spilt oil and debris.

The crash left one car is on its roof in a bush at the side of the road.

Ambulance crews treated several people at the scene.

All lanes were reopened just before 6pm.
