A woman was taken to hospital after a crash involving four cars in Willesborough last night.

Police were called to Boys Hall Road at 5.02pm following a report of a multi-vehicle collision.

The woman was taken to William Harvey Hospital with a suspected back injury while three other people had minor injuries and received treatment at the scene from paramedics.

The road was closed for two hours and reopened again at 7.19pm.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said they sent two ambulances to the scene.
