An Ashford mum is warning pet owners to be vigilant after her much-loved dog was stolen from her front garden.
Rebecca Borrer, 33, from South Ashford was horrified to discover that her pug had been grabbed and taken in front of her 12-year-old son.
The incident happened at around 2.45pm yesterday, when two men, believed to be in their 20s, quickly ran off after snatching the dog.
Mrs Borrer said: "My son was sat out in the front garden with our family dogs when two blokes around their 20s turned up.
"The first bloke came in to the house garden and the second bloke stood in the gateway.
"They called my pug over to the first bloke, then he grabbed him and picked him up and then ran off with him.
"My son shouted at them to give him back but they just ran."
"Beware of people. Don't trust anyone. I'm petrified to go out my house" - Rebecca Borrer
Mrs Borrer chased after the men and other residents in the area saw the incident happen and pointed which way they went but she had no joy in finding them.
The family were worried for the dog's welfare who suffers with a hernia and breathing difficulties.
Fortunately, the pug was returned to the family last night at 11pm after Mrs Borrer discovered the dog had been quickly sold on.
The buyer saw Mrs Borrer's Facebook posts appealing for help in getting the pet returned and got in touch to return the animal after saying she had bought the dog for £300 which she later got back.
Mrs Borrer believes that the two men who grabbed her dog may have called at the house earlier that day.
She said: "If anything weird happens, be careful.
"Beware of people. Don't trust anyone.
"I'm petrified to go out my house."
She reported the incident to the police.
