A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found yesterday afternoon.

The victim, a man believed to be in his 40s, was found dead at 4.28pm on Saturday in Military Road, Appledore.

Police remain at the scene and inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A man aged in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have launched an investigation and would like to talk to anyone who saw any stationary vehicles or people in the area between 9pm on Friday and 4.30pm on Saturday.

Just before 10pm police confirmed the death was no longer being treated as suspicious.
