An Ashford man gave a judge a novel reason for dealing in cannabis from his home... his partner wanted a boob job!
Red-head supermarket assistant Sarah Smith, 35, said she had planned a £4,000 breast enhancement operation.
So lover Gavin Tomkins, 37, began supplying cannabis from their home in Running Foxes lane, Ashford.
When police raided their flat earlier this year they discovered cannabis worth up to £1,700 and £1,000 in cash.
Prosecutor Simon Taylor told Canterbury Crown Court that a forensic examination of Tomkins’ phone revealed he had 60 regular “customers”.
Smith denied possessing the drugs intending to sell them but admitted allowing her premises to be used for that purpose. The Crown Prosecution Service accepted the pleas.
Her lawyer Daniel Cummins told how the couple had planned to use money made from the sale of cannabis to enlarge Ms Smith’s breasts.
The judge Recorder George Pulman QC said that police had discovered 112 grams of cannabis at the house shared by the couple with a street value of up to £1,700.
“Also inside the flat was £1000 in cash, which I find, in one way or another was profit from the sale of cannabis.
“An examination of your phone and other paraphernalia showed Tomkins had 60 regular customers. Ms Smith has admitted permitting the flat to be used for the supply of cannabis.
“Both of you lived together there and she wanted to have some cosmetic surgery and Tomkins said that the profit from his drug dealing was to pay for the £4000 operation, “ he added.
Smith was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work for the community.
Tomkins, who admitted supplying the drugs, was given an 18-month jail sentence suspended for two years.
