A county cricket club claims reports that one of their players streaked at a supermarket were down to a case of "mistaken identity".
We previously reported how witnesses had claimed that a member of the Hampshire Second XI Cricket Squad had stripped off to try to buy a bottle of Vodka from Sainsbury's.
Staff at the Bybrook shop, in Simone Weil Avenue in Ashford, refused to serve him in the early hours of Thursday, June 27.
But the club says that after an internal investigation into the allegations, they have found no evidence of any involvement by members of their team.
A spokesman said: "Hampshire Cricket has conducted a thorough investigation into the alleged involvement of a player associated with the club in a late night incident in a supermarket in Ashford, Kent.
"This investigation included a viewing of the supermarket's CCTV footage.
"The club is satisfied that this is a case of mistaken identity, and that the person involved was not part of the Hampshire squad that was staying in the next door hotel."
The true identity of the streaker remains a mystery.
