Folkestone boss Neil Cugley said he would gladly forego three league points against ambitious Whitehawk this season if it meant his side could progress in the FA Cup.
Invicta face the Sussex side at Cheriton Road in the first qualifying round on Saturday with a windfall of £3,000 up for grabs for the winners.
Cugley (pictured) admits the money would mean a lot more to cash-strapped Invicta than the free-spending Ryman League Division 1 South title-chasers and admitted: "A cup-run would be good.
"If I had to choose whether to win the cup game with Whitehawk or a league one, I’d have to choose the cup because the financial help it would give the club is just too good to turn down."
He added: "It’s going to be difficult. They are a strong team and the draw could have been kinder but we are at home and we’ll give it our best shot."
Invicta will be without leading scorer Stuart King, who’s out for a month with an arm injury, and attacker Richard Atkins who has been ruled out for a similar spell with a broken collarbone, but could welcome back Paul Jones from an ankle injury.
One player who is unlikely to feature is former Dover youngster James Rogers, who has joined on a dual-registration basis from Blue Square Bet South side Dartford.
Rogers was set to replace the unavailable Liam Dickson in Wednesday night’s side for the league visit of Worthing but Dickson is set to be in the line-up for Saturday as Dartford are reluctant to have Rogers cup-tied.
