Folkestone boss Neil Cugley has given his backing to new club secretary Richard Murrill.
Murrill, the club’s long-standing programme editor, has taken over the role following the departure of Neil Pilcher.
Cugley (pictured) said: "He’s a good lad, he’s been around the club a long time and I know him well. Neil said he’d help him out in the early stages too, which is good."
Murrill said: "As programme editor, I have liaised with Neil Pilcher a lot over the years so in some respects it makes sense that I take on some of his duties.
"I am not going to replace him – when you put as much work and go above and beyond the call of duty like Neil has you are impossible to replace one-for-one.
"I have a good working relationship with Neil Cugley and match secretary Elaine (Orsbourne), who is staying on, so hopefully everything will continue smoothly."
Cugley revealed last week’s appeal for volunteers went OK: "We’ve had a few phone calls from people looking to help out but we’re always keen on having more volunteers, particularly people who can help out with the paperwork side of things."
