Folkestone boss Neil Cugley says having striker Jimmy Dryden fit and ready to start the new Ryman League Premier Division campaign will be like signing a new player.
The 30-year-old marksman has committed himself to the club he first played for as a youngster and Cugley (pictured) admitted: "It’s a big plus for us and, if he gets back to being the player he was, he will be a big asset.
"He hardly played at all last season, but he loves the club, and is raring to go. We didn’t score enough goals last season, and is one area we need to improve on and Jimmy has a proven record at this level."
Another ex-Cheriton Road striker Paul Jones is also set to join in pre-season, giving Cugley the chance to assess his fitness. He left Ashford last season and was linked with a return back then.
Cugley says talks with another midfielder are "ongoing". He added: "He is a player with experience in Conference South, and I am going to give him a little bit longer to decide whether to accept the offer.
"It will be nice to get him, but if it doesn’t happen then I think we will probably look to bring in somebody on loan."
