Folkestone boss Neil Cugley has challenged the younger members of his squad to prove their worth and save the club some money.
If Cugley can unearth a gem close to home it will save him having to look at bringing new talent in ahead of the new season.
Cugley (pictured) said: "It’s time now for some of the young lads to kick on and show me what they are all about and that they can be important to me.
"We are always looking for new players but we are restricted a bit financially. I don’t want to go back on what we’ve been doing so well and to not give these youngsters a go first.
"Before we go out and bring players in we need to make sure we don’t already have what I’m looking for here already."
Cugley is due to promote some of last season’s successful youth members into the first team squad during pre-season, where he will get a good look at what is on offer.
Invicta start their pre-season campaign at the Buzzlines Stadium against Surrey side Badshot Lea on Saturday, July 23.
With Stuart King already signed up Cugley’s main area to strengthen is the supply-route to goal.
He said: "I’ve been making calls and we are talking to people and we’ll see if we can get someone in. But there is no rush and we can have a look at players throughout July in pre-season."
