A multimillion-pound cinema and hotel complex in the town centre has reached another milestone.
The Elwick Place development is one step closer to completion as construction workers have started to put the gold mesh around the outside of the new cinema.
The six-screen site will be run by Cineworld as part of its Picturehouse brand.
Set to be completed by December, Elwick Place will include a Travelodge hotel, six-screen cinema, eight new restaurants and a 282 space car park.
It is being built by Stanhope PLC on the former cattle market, next to the railway line and opposite County Square.
