Police arrest three people following raids on premises on the Cobbs Wood Industrial Estate and in the Kennington area, in Ashford

Around 50 mature cannabis plants were found at an address in Kennington.

The discovery followed a series of raids by police under the Misuse of Drugs Act in Ashford town yesterday.

Officers carried out three warrants at premises on the Cobbs Wood Industrial Estate and in the Kennington area.

One witness spotted up to four police cars and a van on the business park, who remained at the scene for several hours.

Today, police revealed up to 50 mature cannabis plants were found at the address in Kennington. No plants were found on the Cobbs Wood estate.

The investigation led to the arrest of two men and a woman on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

A spokesman for the police said the raids were part of a “planned operation”.

He said: “Police have carried out three warrants in the Cobbs Wood and Kennington areas and arrested three people on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

“The three arrested include a man aged in his 20s, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s.”

All three have now been released on bail until Thursday, September 10 pending further inquiries.
