More than 400 runners of all ages are expected on the start line for the seventh Folkestone Rotary Half-Marathon on Sunday.
The race, which gest under way from The Leas at 10am, has attracted entrants from local Kent clubs as well as London and beyond. An inaugural children’s race, which starts 30 minutes after the main race, has opened the event up to even more participants.
Prize money of £100, courtesy of sponsors Independent Insurance Services, is on offer for the winners of the men’s and women’s races.
There will also be prizes and medals awarded in other categories, while many of the runners will be taking part to raise money for charity.
Although it will be possible to turn up and enter on the day, between 8.30-9.30am at The Grand, pre-registration at www.nice-work.org.uk is recommended.
Race director Ray Johnson said: "Last year, we raised over £38,000 for good causes and are hoping to exceed this amount this year."
