A lorry carrying soup has overturned causing traffic chaos near Ashford.

The lorry tipped over on the Crooksfoot roundabout, at Junction 10 of the M20, shortly after 6am, spilling a large quantity of diesel and shedding some of its load of packaged soups.

There were no other vehicles involved and no one was injured in the crash.

Police have closed the A292 Hythe Road into Ashford and the A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road.

The Romney Marsh Road roundabout at the junction with the A2070 was also closed as traffic tailbacks spilled back past Orbital Park.

Police have advised drivers to use junction 9 of the M20 to avoid congestion at the scene of the crash.
