Pair admit attack but deny murder bid charge

Two men have admitted wounding a teenager who suffered serious injuries in an attack.

Trevor Moore, 21, and Michael Swansborough, 19, denied attempting to murder Lloyd Smith but pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Moore, of Western Gardens, Willesborough, also admitted possessing an offensive weapon, an axe, and stealing a mobile phone.

Swansborough, of Bridge Street, Wye, admitted possessing a bladed article, a knife.

The prosecution was given two weeks to consider the pleas, entered via a TV link from Elmley Prison, Sheppey, on Monday.

Moore and Swansborough were remanded in custody until January 26.

Mr Smith, 18, was left in a critical condition following the attack in Hythe Road, Ashford, on October 15.
