Ashford: Officers charge two men after pedestrians hit by Range Rover in Vicarage Lane car park

A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after two pedestrians were hit by a white Range Rover in a car park in Ashford.

Two men have now been charged following the incident in Vicarage Lane, which happened at about 4am on Sunday.

Terry Dunne, 30, of Knockhall Road in Greenhithe, is accused of grievous bodily harm with intent and drink driving.

James Shiels, 32, of Stanley Close, Greenhithe, was charged with drink driving and driving without insurance and while disqualified.

Both men appeared at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on Easter Monday and were remanded in custody.

Dunne will appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, April 30.

Shiels will next appear in court at a date to be confirmed.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Lewis Tompsett said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident or witnessed a vehicle of this description driving earlier in the evening.

"We are treating this as an isolated incident."
