Ashford man and woman charged with blackmailing Dover residents

Blackmail charges have been brought against a man and woman from Ashford.

Police investigated a series of demands for money made to two people in Dover between January 17 and March 20.

Chris Sellman, 22, and 28-year-old Stephanie Gibb, both of Westwell Lane, Ashford, were then charged on Thursday with making an unwarranted demand for money with a view to gain money or with intent to cause loss to another.

Gibb was released on bail to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on May 7.

Meanwhile Sellman appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 25, where he was remanded in custody to next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on April 26.
