Commuters in Ashford have reacted angrily to the news that a trip on the new Javelin trains could cost as much as £2 per minute.
Locals using the current slower service for their daily trip to the capital were shocked at the top potential price for a ticket - which at almost £68 is more than a trip to Paris.
'Very bad news', 'sickening' and 'huge amounts of money' were all used to describe the amount, with many predicting that the hikes would simply cause customers to get back into their cars.
