Folkestone boss Neil Cugley looks set to offer Paul Jones the chance of returning for a second spell at Cheriton Road.
The 29-year-old striker has been training with the club and Cugley (pictured) is impressed by what he has seen.
Injuries have hampered Jones in the past few seasons but he said: "Paul has done well and when fit he does look a good player. I hope to talk to him this week.
"Things are progressing nicely in pre-season. We have done three sessions a week so far and Paul and Jimmy Dryden have been to them all."
Last week’s draws for the FA Cup and FA Trophy which have given Invicta home ties in both competitions against West Sussex opposition.
They face fellow Ryman League, Premier Division side Horsham in the First Qualifying Round of the Cup on Saturday, September 11 and then meet Worthing in the same stage of the Trophy a month later.
Cugley said: "Being at home is important, if we were away they would been bad draws. We know Horsham well and got a tremendous result at Worthing last season, ending their long unbeaten home run."
