A person has died after they collapsed in a residential street.

Paramedics were called to the medical emergency at Church Street in Wye, near Ashford, yesterday afternoon.

Although desperate efforts were made to revive them, they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing three ambulances at the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “I can confirm we were called at about 3pm yesterday to Church Street, Wye, to reports a person had been found collapsed.

“Ambulance crews attended the scene but sadly, despite the efforts of all those involved, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The police has been approached for comment.
