A pizza takeaway has closed after just two years in a shopping centre - with bosses saying they are “unable to sustain the store”.
On Pizza opened in County Square in Ashford in 2021 after a major refurbishment to transform the former Warren's Bakery branch.
But this morning owners Adam and Edyta Dejnaka announced the store has closed.
Writing on Facebook, they said: “With a heavy heart we would like to inform everyone that On Pizza is now closed.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone who trusted us for over two years.
“It’s been a great journey for us and On Pizza but as with many journeys (especially now) this one now had to come to an end.
"It’s been an absolute pleasure serving you all.”
Fifteen jobs were created at the store when it opened in May 2021.
They served a range of 20-inch pizzas and dessert pizzas, alongside slices, coffee, craft soda and locally sourced ice creams.
A spokesman from Landswood, which runs County Square, said: “We very sad to hear of the announced closure, especially knowing the business meant so much personally to the owners, and the positive feedback and reviews that they often received.
“We understand that like many small medium enterprises facing rising costs and huge utility bills, On Pizza trading conditions were made even more difficult this year.
“As managing agents, Landswood had tried to assist as much as possible.
“We will now liaise with the outgoing tenant and local marketing agents to try and secure a smooth closure and remarketing.
“Given the occupancy rates in phase one of the centre have been consistently high, we hope to secure new tenants as soon as possible.”
