Transport chiefs have urged revellers and passengers to plan their rail journeys and check before travelling ahead of New Year’s Eve and the New Year bank holiday.
Southeastern says trains going into London will be very busy on Saturday night and a normal Saturday service will be running on its network.
There will also be extra late night and early morning trains after the clock strikes midnight, with services out of London Charing Cross and Cannon Street until 2.45am, while there will be trains running from London Victoria until around 3am.
But services from Waterloo East will close at 11.45pm and there will be no trains calling at London Blackfriars throughout New Year’s Eve.
Then on New Year’s Day and bank holiday Monday there will be no scheduled trains calling at Charing Cross, Waterloo East, and Cannon Street as Network Rail carries out engineering work. Services will instead run from London Victoria and Blackfriars.
