Detectives investigating a suspected assault on a man found in the street in Mersham are appealing for a number of drivers to come forward.

An investigation was launched following the discovery of a man with serious head injuries.

Gary Langham, who is in his 40s and is from Folkestone, was found lying on the carriageway in Bower Road at about 7.05am on Sunday, August 23.

He was discovered by a tractor driver and rushed to a London hospital. He remains in a serious condition.

Officers have now identified that a number of vehicles were in the area between 6.15am and 7am on that day and they would like to speak to the drivers as a matter of urgency.

The vehicles are believed to be a black or dark-coloured pick-up truck, a blue five-door Skoda, a red three-door Nissan, possibly with a black bonnet, a dark-coloured Golf and a light blue three-door Nissan.

Officers would also like to speak to a cyclist they believe was in the area at the time.

Det Sgt Matt Smith said: “We would like to speak to these drivers as they could help us with the investigation.

“We know there was a music event in Mersham the previous evening which attracted a lot of people to the area and if they haven’t yet spoken to us, please get in touch.
