Police called to Ashford town centre after man attacked in high street

A man was approached by two other men before being assaulted in a high street.

Police have launched an investigation following the incident in Ashford yesterday evening.

Two patrol cars were seen outside Pizza Express in North Street after officers were called to the town centre at about 6.15pm.

Police say the victim was approached by two men before being assaulted by one of them, causing minor injuries.

A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody while inquiries continue.
