A woman has been taken to hospital this morning after police were called to a busy road bridge amid concerns for her welfare.

Officers were called to the bridge over the A2070 in Ashford - close to j10 of the M20 - at 4.25am today.

They joined ambulance crews, and the road was closed off for safety reasons.

She was taken away, and the carriageway is now fully open.
