Police divers have been searching Singleton Lake this afternoon for a knife used in an alleged attempted murder.
Witnesses say the specialist teams have been at the Ashford lake for most of the day.
One resident said there were around six officers scouring the water and a senior detective at the site.
He said: "It doesn't look like they've found anything yet."
The knife is thought to have been used in the stabbing of Rotimi Edwards at a house party in Singleton on June 4 this year.
Mr Edwards was taken to hospital in a serious condition after the alleged attack, which left him needing surgery.
Owen Lane, 22, of Imperial Way, Ashford, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
He denied the charge at Maidstone Crown Court earlier this month, and will stand trial later this year.
A police spokesman said: "Officers have been at the lake today.
"We are looking for a weapon, a knife. It is a large, slim, metal, domestic knife.
"We want to find that knife in connection with an attempted murder investigation at Lakemead."
