Police hunt lone car attacker

Police patrols have been stepped up in an area of Ashford where 25 cars were vandalised, causing thousands of pounds damage.

A lone attacker is believed to be responsible. Vehicles were attacked in neighbouring streets of Godinton Road, Norbury Gardens, Marlow Street, Western Avenue, and The Street, Little Chart over the weekend.

Owners reported slashed tyres with reports still coming in.

Police hope CCTV footage may hold clues to who was responsible and are currently working on the theory that it was a loner rather than a group of offenders, and have stepped up patrols in the targeted area.

Insp Andrew Judd said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who has information about this incident to contact police.

“Neighbourhood officers and PCSOs are speaking to residents in the locality to determine the full scale of this criminal damage and gather information which will lead to the arrest of the offender.”
