Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two people were nearly robbed in Ashford during the same day.
Police are investigating if the two incidents are linked, after two men attempted to rob victims in Kennington and the town centre during the early hours of the morning on Saturday August, 11.
The first victim, a man in his 20s, reported that two men came out of the woodland near Cemetery Lane in Kennington at around 1.20am and demanded that he handed over his phone and wallet.
They both left empty-handed after the victim ran to safety.
He described the suspect to be 6ft tall and dressed in a hooded sports jacket, trousers and trainers.
The second suspect was around 5 ft 6 in tall and dressed in a similar fashion.
On the same day, officers received another report of an attempted robbery in Station Road between 1.20am and 2.30an.
A man in his 20s reported that shortly after intervening in an altercation involving three women, he was approached by two men and punched.
As he walked away along Somerset Road, the two men reappeared and assaulted him for the second time.
After trying to grab his phone and wallet, they also left empty-handed.
The suspect was described to be a 6 ft 4 in slim white man with dark brown hair and dressed in a grey tracksuit.
The second suspect was described as a white man in his 20s, with a fat build, 5 ft 4 in tall and with dark hair slicked back.
He was wearing a maroon zip-up hooded top and tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Sergeant Heidi Collins said: "As part of our ongoing enquiries, we are investigating if the two incidents might be linked.
"I would ask anyone who has any information about either report, to contact us on 01843 222289 quoting either ZY/46773/18 for the Cemetery Lane incident, or ZY/46786/18 for the Station Road report.
