Police have issued a warning to a driver stopped at a boy racer hotspot.

Officers pulled over a Ford Fiesta ST at Eureka Leisure Park in Ashford and informed the driver he risks having his vehicle seized if he continues to drive in an unsuitable manner.

The driver stopped on Friday evening and handed a Section 59 warning, which officers can issue in cases where driving is “likely to cause alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public”.

Eureka Leisure Park – home to Ashford’s Cineworld – is a well-known spot for so-called boy racers whose antics are proving a “total nightmare” for people living nearby.

Videos taken by one resident have captured the noise as drivers are heard honking horns and revving engines late into the night.

"They have no respect – you cannot just go up to them and ask them to tone it down after 11pm because they would just kick off,” one Bockhanger resident told KentOnline last year.

“I feel like the police turn a blind eye to it because it is private property. When I report it, I feel like giving up because of the response.”

Owners of the site say car meets are prohibited – but neighbours say not enough action is being taken to stop them.
