Police arrest man, 31, following discovery of cannabis cultivation in Wood Lane, Park Farm in Ashford

A 31-year-old has been arrested after police discovered a cannabis cultivation at a residential property.

Five police vehicles including three cars and two vans were seen in Wood Lane in Park Farm, Ashford yesterday (July 21).

They were spotted in the cul-de-sac, just off Bluebell Road and backing onto the A2070.

Images sent to KentOnline showed officers riffling through items on the property’s drive with household objects and waste laid out in the front garden.

One van was pictured parked on the drive with other emergency vehicles parked behind it.

Kent Police has since confirmed officers had been investigating the property for two days.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “We located a cannabis cultivation at a property in Wood Lane, Ashford on Saturday following a report of suspicious activity in the area.

“A quantity of plants were seized, along with growing equipment.

“A 31-year-old man from Ashford was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity.

“He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.”
