A pop-up Christmas-themed bar offering mulled wine, locally brewed beers and festive cocktails has opened in Ashford.
Powder Mill's Christmas Cabin has filled a vacant Grade II-listed unit next to St Mary the Virgin Church in the high street.
It opened on Wednesday and will be in the town until December 31 where it will mark the end of the festivities with a New Year's Eve party.
The team behind the venture – Powder Mill Productions – spent seven days decorating the unit and installing a mobile bar which is usually used for weddings and events across Kent.
Andy Thomas-Emans, who runs the bar, says there has been a great response from the community so far, adding: "We didn't have anything booked for December so we decided to give this a go.
"We found this place and it has been great.
"We do staging, lighting and sound too, but here we have really enjoyed it and people have been really supportive.
"It's a great place for people to come and relax and we’ve tried to create a cosy atmosphere.
"It's going to be really hard to give this place up so we might be back next year but we’ll see how well it goes."
As well as the bar, the dog-friendly pop-up cabin also has live music, open mic nights, and creative workshops from Bollywood dancing to wreath making classes.
On Sunday, the Loose Women Morris dancers will be putting on a performance at the site, which was most recently a clothes shop.
Teas, coffees and hot chocolates are also available alongside beer from Westerham Brewery and mulled wine and cider from Biddenden Vineyard.
Handmade Christmas cards and work by local artists are on display and available to buy.
Last month, Ashford Museum submitted plans to Ashford Borough Council to turn the building into a 'conservation annexe'.
The museum – which is based in the churchyard – wants to use the site for "working on, sorting, and archiving historic items".
Also nearby in Middle Row, new takeaway Calla Thai opened its doors at the end of November.
It offers rice and noodle set meals from £5.50 from 11am and 6pm.
