A woman, who is believed to be pregnant, was taken to hospital this morning following a collision between two vehicles in Ashford.

Police and ambulance were both called to Chart Road at around 11.55am to a report that two cars, a Volkswagen Polo and a Vauxhall Zafira, had collided.

The woman driver of the Vauxhall, who is believed pregnant, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital for a check up. It is not thought that she suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the Polo was not injured.
