Raffles the Pilgrims Hospice Bear hasn’t let a few puddles interrupt his training for the charity’s Pyjama Walk later this month.
He’s been out practising regularly despite continual downpours.
And Raffles reckons that if he’s willing to risk his fur getting wet if it rains on the night then you humans can do it too!
The Pyjama Walk is on Saturday, June 30, with the fun starting from 8.30pm and the walk setting off at 10.30pm on the new route around Ashford taking in the town’s Eureka Skyway bridge over the M20.
The walk begins and finishes at the Ashford Designer Outlet.
Nigel Donkin, hospices fundraising manager, is appealing for more walkers to follow in Raffles’ pawsteps and sign up.
Mr Donkin said: “Clearly this is the most fun anyone can have in their pyjamas on a Saturday night!”
He added: “Pilgrims Hospices needs to raise over £9 million a year to fund its services so come and join seasoned walkers on the 5.4 mile route around Ashford.”
The organisers also need volunteer marshalls. If you can help contact the fundraising office on 01233 504111 or email Deirdre.mewse@pilgrimshospices.org
