Part of a town centre road had to be closed this morning after a van flipped over onto its roof.

Pictures show the Volkswagen Caddy overturned at the junction of Beaver Road and Victoria Road in Ashford outside the new Hampton by Hilton hotel.

The fire service called to the scene just before 10.30am, but was not required to free anyone trapped in the vehicle.

The accident, which also involved a car, happened at the same junction where a Vauxhall Astra police car was damaged in a crash last month.

Police has been approached for comment on this morning's incident.

At the other end of Beaver Road, three horses forced drivers to take evasive action during rush-hour after escaping from a field close to B&Q.
