Sinkhole shuts Roman Road in Aldington near Ashford

A village road has been closed after a small sinkhole appeared.

Roman Road in Aldington, near Ashford, is shut off in both directions outside the Post Office.

The hole is reportedly more than a metre deep.

The route is expected to be shut until February 20.

A diversion is currently in place, with drivers told to travel down Frith Road, Ashford Road, Bonnington Road, Boat Lane, New Road Hill and Forge Hill to reach Roman Road and vice versa.
