Temporary traffic lights which have been causing drivers headaches across a town centre will remain in place for another fortnight.
Engineers from SGN have been carrying out gas repairs in Elwick Road, Ashford since before the Christmas period.
It has resulted in the company installing lights between the junctions of Apsley Street and Bank Street while they carry out the maintenance.
The roadworks, though, have led to drivers regularly facing delays in what is arguably the busiest part of the town between Lidl and The Ashford Cinema.
Although work was due to be completed by Monday (January 6), SGN has now agreed an extension with Kent County Council (KCC) to extend the use of the lights until at least January 14.
A spokesperson said: "We’re carrying out urgent repairs to our network in the Elwick Road area to ensure nearby properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.
"We’re aware this is a sensitive route and we’re monitoring the traffic flow and manually operating these lights to help minimise disruption.
"Our engineers have made several repairs to this section of our gas network, but there are other affected pipes that require fixing.
"We’d like to thank road users, residents and businesses for your ongoing patience while we complete these essential repairs."
Elsewhere in the town centre, residents of Quantock Drive are also continuing to see gas repairs take place outside their homes.
The road backing on to Highworth Grammar School for Girls saw work begin on New Year's Eve and is due to finish on Wednesday, January 8.
