Victory in the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off final at home to Godalming on Saturday would give Neil Cugley more satisfaction than any other game in his 13 years as Folkestone manager.

Invicta produced a stunning comeback from 2-0 down at half-time to draw their play-off semi-final against Leatherhead on Tuesday before a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory.

Cugley (pictured) believes the penalty shoot-out victory is the club’s first since their reformation almost 20 years ago and said no matter what happens in the final, he is proud of his squad.

He said: "If the season had finished two weeks ago then I would still have been happy and proud of what the players have achieved this season, given everything that has gone on. But I want to win the last two games.

"It would be an unbelievable achievement to get promotion given what has happened.

"Godalming are in the same position as us, they have had a lot of games to catch up on.

"Were we to win it would be the most satisfying result in my time at the club. Without doubt these last two games are the biggest games of the season."

Invicta host Sittingbourne in the final of the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday with Cugley adding: "They knocked us out of the FA Cup and beat us in the league at an important time, so I want to beat them in the final."
