Neil Cugley would rather Folkestone Invicta avoid relegation from the Ryman League Premier Division than go on a lucrative cup run to the FA Cup first round proper.
Despite the 4-2 win over Horsham on Saturday which booked Invicta a home tie in the second qualifying round, on September 25, Invicta boss Cugley preferred to focus on important league games at Horsham on Saturday and
at home to Margate on Tuesday.
He said: "We have two important league games before then and that is what I’m focusing on.
"The league is the thing for me. We want to stay up. If we could stay up it would be one of my better achievements.
"I think I would actually prefer to stay up than to get through to the FA Cup first round. I want them both in different ways but staying up, by a point or goal difference or whatever, would give me a lot of satisfaction."
Invicta will try to reach the third qualifying round when they host Suffolk side Leiston, flying high in the Ridgeons Eastern Counties League Premier Division.
Invicta are likely to be unchanged when they renew acquaintances with Horsham on Saturday.
Micheal Everitt will miss both games through suspension while his brother, James, will remain on the bench as he is not yet fit to start after a back problem.
