Scott Porter has moved to safeguard the on-field future of the club by securing a trio of players on contract.
The Hythe manager (pictured) has handed Nick Barnes, Taser Hassan and Nick Reeves deals until the end of next season.
They are the first players to sign contracts with the Ryman League Division 1 South side.
It’s a move that Porter feels is key to maintaining a strong foundation.
He said: "We can’t keep rebuilding every year. You want to keep your best young players.
"Other clubs could be sniffing around and it’s important we keep hold of them. If we put people on contract it means that if anyone wants them then they’ll have to pay money for them instead of just coming in and nicking them off us.
"It’s an important thing to do as we become more professional and it’s part of going forward as a club."
Porter’s side did not play at the weekend, with their trip to Walton & Hersham falling victim to the weather. The freezing temperatures could also claim this Saturday’s home match against Sittingbourne.
