More than 120 people were killed, and more injured, in a series of gun and bomb attacks across the French capital.
French President Francois Hollande has now declared a national state of emergency, and vowed to wage a "merciless" fight against terrorism.
Eighty people were reportedly shot dead when gunmen burst into the sold out Bataclan concert hall, where US rock group Eagles of Death Metal were playing.
Within an hour, security forces entered the concert hall and all four attackers there were dead, three having blown themselves up, and a fourth was shot dead by police.
Other civilians were killed at restaurants and bars in the city, and there were explosions at the Stade de France, where France were playing a friendly game against Germany.
It is believed that the eight men who carried out the attacks are dead.
Today, Channel services into France are all still operating from Kent.
Eurotunnel, based in Folkestone, announced on Twitter: “Trains are operating as normal in both directions but if travelling from Calais be aware that enhanced security checks are in place."
While Eurostar, which stops at Ashford and Ebbsfleet International stations, said: “Eurostar trains are planned to run on Saturday, please check in 60 min before departure and see eurostar.com for updates."
They added: “Our thoughts remains with those affected by last nights events."
Eurostar is also offering free ticket exchange to anyone who doesn't want to travel to France today.
P&O ferries say there might be delays at the port in Dover as extra security checks are put in place.
They said on Twitter: "Dover Calais: If you are traveling to France with us today please allow extra time for your journey and be prepared for extra security checks."
Dan Bridgett, head of communications at P&O Ferries, added: "Services are running as normal but we are advising customers to allow extra time for their journey and to be prepared for extra security checks."
