Neil Cugley says the future of Folkestone Invicta's Liam Friend is yet to be decided, with more than one side interested in the promising defender.
The centre-back joined Invicta’s first pre-season training session on Sunday but discussions have been ongoing with a view to him moving to a higher level following Folkestone’s relegation from Ryman League Premier Division last season.
Margate have been linked with signing him.
Invicta boss Cugley (pictured) said: “He was here on Saturday and we had a chat but nothing’s happened yet.
"There are a couple of teams who are interested in him and I think he might go and train with them, but we’ll wait and see what happens.
“In financial terms, it doesn’t matter to the club that there is more than one club interested, as the compensation will be the same no matter where he goes.”
Cugley also revealed he was in no hurry to bolster his squad with triallists this month.
He said: “We had a good session and Jimmy Dryden and Stuart King both looked fit and sharp.
“We’re having a look at a couple of younger lads and I’d like at least one experienced player, but we’re not in any rush. We want to have a good look.”
