A prolific thief who went on a week-long shoplifting spree across a town has been jailed just two days after his latest offence.
Jesse Barton twice targeted the Tommy Hilfiger store at Ashford Designer Outlet.
Clothing, alcohol and food were also taken from shops in the same town between Friday, December 1, and Wednesday, December 6.
In total, the 35-year-old stole four times over six days in the same town.
A total £360 in clothes were taken from the Tommy Hilfiger store on December 1.
Barton returned to Tommy Hilfiger the next day, stealing six T-shirts adding up to £336.
On December 5, meat adding up to £56.85 was taken from the Co-op in Brookfield Road and alcohol totalling £102 was stolen from Asda, again at the Designer Outlet.
Barton, of Austin Road, Ashford, was arrested on December 6 and later charged with four counts of theft and one count of possession of cocaine.
He admitted all five offences at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Friday, December 8 where he was sentenced to a total of 15 weeks.
Inspector Hilary Bell, of the Ashford Victim Based Crime Team, said after the court hearing: “We will continue to bring shoplifters to justice to protect the town's businesses and their staff.
“I am pleased that the quick work of officers investigating these incidents led to the offender being jailed just two days after his latest offence.”
