A shopper died after collapsing inside a Sainsbury’s store.
Despite the best efforts of staff and paramedics, the tragedy occurred in the Ashford shop off Simone Weil Avenue.
The incident happened just before 2.30pm on Thursday.
A Sainsbury’s spokesman said: “We can confirm our colleagues provided first aid while the emergency services were called to our Bybrook store.”
Once medics arrived on the scene, they too attempted to save the customer’s life but were unable to do so.
An ambulance service spokesman added: “Sadly despite the efforts of all those involved the person died at the scene.”
