Steve Lovell says the signing of defender Adam Flanagan emphasises Ashford Town’s intent to make a real impact on Ryman League Division 1 South next season.
The former Gillingham youngster, son of former Gills boss and ex-Charlton striker Mike, moves to Homelands after leaving Dartford, having helped them clinch promotion to Blue Square South.
Lovell (pictured) said: "I’m pleased to have signed Adam who was one of my top targets.
"We needed a little bit of experience to help our youngsters and this shows we want to do something this season.
"He will be a good signing at our level. We are talking to several players and hopefully have more news in the next few days."
The Ashford squad report back on July 10, and and Lovell has already lined up friendlies against Folkestone (July 27) and Welling (August 3), with others to follow, including plans to host a league club at Homelands.
West Ham and Queens Park Rangers have both being sounded out about possible dates.
Lovell added: "This season will be a big one for everyone at Ashford and all about what we want to achieve."
