Manager Steve Lovell said he was delighted to have climbed off the bottom of Ryman League Division 1 South and hopes to extend Ashford’s winning streak to three on Saturday.
Wins over Dulwich Hamlet and Saturday’s epic comeback from 2-0 down to beat Horsham YMCA 3-2 moved Town above Whitstable on goal-difference ahead of Saturday’s trip to Chipstead.
Lovell said: "I have said all along that when we get our injured players back and some depth to the squad then we’ll be all right.
"We needed to get enough players around to be a bit stronger – and now we have that.
"I always believed we would start winning, but finishing third-bottom is still the target. We will take nothing for granted – it’s only been two wins."
Town now lie a point behind Eastbourne, but have three games in hand on their rivals and Lovell added: "Hopefully we can win some of our games in hand, and we still have to play teams around us like Whitstable and Walton Casuals – if we win those games we can move away from them."
He vowed: "We will take every game as it comes. Hopefully we can continue to perform well, move away from the bottom of the table and put ourselves into a strong position for the start of next year."
Lovell also targeted a third-consecutive win, after Wednesday night’s home clash with Met Police fell victim to the weather.
He said: "Chipstead are a decent footballing side but their pitch is small, which is maybe why they have done better away from home.
"I have no doubt if we perform as we have been doing in the past few games then we’ll get something."
