A suspected robber has appeared in court charged with a string of offences including theft, burglary and shoplifting.

Pete Osbourne is accused of committing a series of crimes at locations across Ashford in the last month.

The 35-year-old is alleged to have robbed a delivery van in Ninn Lane on Monday, and is charged with driving without insurance and a licence in the same incident.

Other charges include two counts of theft from cars and the burglary of a shed in Chart Road on the same day.

He is accused of attempted burglary in relation to three sheds which were tampered with in College Road on August 25.

The homeless suspect is also charged with shoplifting of alcohol from a supermarket in Kimberley Way on Tuesday.

Mr Osbourne, of no fixed address, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody. The case was adjourned to Canterbury Crown Court on October 11.
