The owner of an Indian restaurant which has reopened after a months-long refurbishment hopes people will feel like they are in Mayfair when they dine in.
The Kennington Tandoori in Faversham Road, Ashford, has undergone a major redesign to bring in a flower wall, green velvet chairs and neon lights.
Owner Ash Miah, who designed the restaurant himself, feels it has been transformed into something you would find at the Ashford Designer Outlet and London.
"We are proud, there is a lot of history in this place, we have been here for 16 years so to open it back up is great," he said.
"We wanted to make the dining experience like Mayfair.
"People will feel this is an Instagrammable restaurant, it's for taking pictures.
"Before it was outdated but now this is the kind of restaurant you'd find at the Designer Outlet, very modern and affluent."
While refurbishments were taking place, the kitchen remained open for takeaway service.
Now the 30-cover dining area is open for customers after an official opening ceremony with the Mayor of Ashford, Cllr Jenny Webb, earlier this month.
While pleased to finally be back open, Mr Miah has also expressed concerns about spiralling energy costs after receiving a monthly bill of close to £11,000.
He runs the adjacent Burger Boys restaurant, as well as Cinnamon Spice at Eureka Place off Trinity Road.
